Gene Editing

Gene editing is the general name for biotechnological methods that allow targeted changes to be made to an organism's DNA sequence — including cutting, deleting, inserting or altering a specific gene. With the development of tools such as CRISPR-Cas9, these procedures have become far faster, cheaper and more precise than before, and are now widely used in agriculture, medicine and basic biological research.
