Immune System

The immune system is a complex defensive network of cells, tissues and organs that protects the body against bacteria, viruses and other harmful microorganisms. It consists of two main components: innate immunity (fast but non-specific) and adaptive immunity (slower to develop but with target-specific memory); many dietary and lifestyle factors directly affect its effectiveness.
