Nabataeans

The Nabataeans were an ancient Arab people who flourished from the 4th century BCE to the 1st century CE in what is today Jordan, southern Israel and northern Arabia, and who carved their capital, Petra, out of rock. Situated at the crossroads of caravan trade routes, they amassed great wealth especially through the incense and spice trade.
