Readymade
A readymade is a concept developed by French artist Marcel Duchamp in which a manufactured or everyday object becomes a work of art through the artist's choice and presentation. Examples such as the bicycle wheel and the urinal challenged the idea that an artwork must be handmade. This approach shifted the answer to 'what is art?' from the object itself to the artist's intent.
