Soda Lake

A soda lake is a lake in an endorheic (closed) basin where evaporation exceeds water inflow, causing carbonate and bicarbonate salts to become concentrated and the water to turn alkaline. The pH of such lakes is typically between 9 and 12, and they host only specialized microorganisms and species adapted to these extreme conditions.
