VAR

VAR (Video Assistant Referee) is a technology and officiating system that supports the on-field referee through video footage in critical decisions such as goals, penalties, direct red cards and mistaken identity. It was incorporated into the official Laws of the Game by IFAB in 2018 and has since been widely used in professional football.
