VOC (Volatile Organic Compound)

VOC is the general term for carbon-based chemical compounds that evaporate easily at room temperature. They are continuously released into the air from many household products, including paint, varnish, cleaning products, cosmetics, and pressed-wood furniture. Because indoor spaces have limited air circulation, VOC concentrations indoors can measure several times higher than outdoors. Formaldehyde, benzene, and toluene are among the well-known VOC types.
